Our Hinotori Ride Experience
Riding the Hinotori Limited Express from Osaka-Namba to Nagoya turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. It strikes a sweet balance between comfort, scenery, and convenience. The Premium seats were absolutely worth the upgrade for me, though even the standard cars offer a smooth and enjoyable ride.
Verdict: Highly Recommended! Worth it for those looking for value with a touch of luxury.
FAQ
Is the Hinotori covered by the JR Pass?
No, it is not. You can consider purchasing the Kintetsu Rail Pass, but it only covers the base fare, not the limited express charge.
Can I buy a base fare online?
No, basic fare tickets are sold separately and be purchased at a ticket machine at a station or use an IC card.
Can you pay by IC card alone?
No. The Limited Express tickets can only be reserved/purchased online or at a Kintetsu station ticket counter.
Can I change my ticket or get a refund?
Yes! You can change up to three times before your departure time and up to three months after original purchase date. Refunds can be requested before departure times but a handling fee may apply.
Are there luggage size limits?
I could not find any limitations. Please note the train has designated areas for luggage storage and lockers that may be limited. Please try not to block aisles if no space is available.
How far in advance should I book?
You can purchase Limited Express tickets from 10:30 a.m. one month before the day of departure. On holidays or weekends it recommended to book as soon as possible.
